Tax Time is Here

As a result of COVID, the IRS has extended the tax deadline for personal taxes to Monday May 17th 2021. Returns for Non - Profits (Form 990/990PF) are due Monday May 17th as well.

However the following are still due by April 15th, 2021.

• Estimated tax payments

• Corporate income tax returns (Form 1120)

It is important to take action immediately and not leave it to the very last day. If you are doing your taxes yourself, start on them today and ensure that when you send any payments to the IRS that the envelope is postmarked on or before the due date.

If you are getting a CPA to do your taxes you should contact them immediately to file an extension for you. It is unlikely that at this late stage you will be able to find a CPA to file your taxes by the deadline as they will be busy with the returns they have already scheduled to file.

A point to note is that if you are filing an extension, your tax payment is still due by the due date.
